I have a 11 week old puppy that throws up after he eats and drinks constantly.
I took him to the vet and he is being treated for worms but the only time he throws up is after he eats or drinks any food and he does this like 4 or 5 times till he drinks or eats again.
what can that be from?
Hi Tina
It could be that your pup has a problem with his esophagus, some breeds are more prone to this sort of issue including Megaesophagus in Great Danes.
However, it could also be that your pup is a 'chow hound' and is eating or drinking too quickly, causing him to vomit everything right back up. You can buy special bowls with raised 'nodules' that help with this sort of 'speed eating', or try feeding him on a wide, low baking tray or putting large rocks (LARGE as in much too big for him to try eating!) as both of these things can help slow him down too.
Sometimes it helps pups who tend to regurgitate their food to eat out of elevated food bowls, so you may also want to try that.
I can only recommend that you take your pup back to your veterinarian and ask for a further examination. If there is a physical problem with his esophagus it may well be correctable. Only your vet can make a proper diagnosis though, so have your puppy examined asap.
Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
