puppy urine

I have an 8 week old female boxer. Had an accident in the house where the urine was more brown than yellow.This is the first time i noticed it in a week.

Regular urine color was yellow. The puppy is acting fine and eating regular. What is the cause of the color change of urine?

The most likely cause of this is that she's dehydrated, in a healthy pup dark urine often just means it's very concentrated. I'd recommend making sure that she drinks plenty of water, especially when it's hot weather.

If she is needing to urinate more often than normal, seems to need to 'go' very urgently, and sometimes is passing only a few drops of urine, then she could have a urinary tract infection. This is fairly common in puppies, especially in female pups. This can also cause the urine to be dark colored.

If you think she may be behaving as though she has a UTI, then she needs to be examined by your vet as antibiotics could be necessary.
