Puppy with gurgling stomach

What can I do to help my sisters 4 month old pekignese? Never heard these kinds of gurgling sounds.

She doesn't eat real fast or anything and she is alert but real tired. I don't know what else to describe other than it makes more noise when I rub her belly like maybe she is gassy or something.

The gurgling is more in her abdomen that her belly.

Hi Tawny
These kinds of noises could mean that your sisters' pup may be having difficulty digesting her food. She could be sensitive, or allergic, to certain ingredients, I'd recommend that you check out my Dog Food Allergies page to learn more about this.

It could also possibly be that this little girl has a bacterial or parasitic infection in her digestive system. It would be a good idea to have her checked out by a veterinarian who can take a stool sample and see if there's anything like that going on. If she seems lethargic there could be infection there.

If the vet gives her a clean bill of health, then I'd suggest changing her over to a food specifically designed for dogs with allergies. There are also a lot of natural products (food supplements) that you can give her which help to balance the digestive system and keep everything working properly. Check out my Natural Remedies for Dogs page under both the 'Digestive Issues' and 'Flatulence/Gas' headings.

Hope this helps. Best of luck.
