my 14 week staffy cross keeps getting loose stools, not really runny but loose. he is fed Burns Puppy Bites which he has always had with no problems before. not sure what could be causing this.
he is well in every other way and the vet said that he was ok, he was wormed 2 weeks ago and is not due another until 2 weeks time
Hi Lisa
It's impossible for me to say what's causing your puppys' loose stools but the most likely problems include a sensitivity to the puppy food, or an infection (parasitic or bacterial).
Only a vet can make a diagnosis of infection, and if you've not already had a sample of your puppys' stool tested by your vet for bacteria or parasites such as Coccidia.
If there is no sign of infection, then a sensitivity to a food ingredient is the most likely problem. I'm not familiar with the brand of food that you are using, but always feed a premium puppy food that doesn't contain a lot of fillers, additives, colors, preservatives etc. These are the most likely to cause dog food allergies or sensitivities. Also remember that dog treats and biscuits can also trigger reactions and upset tummies.
Sorry I can't be more help, but as this is a recurring problem it does need to be managed by your vet. Best of luck, hope your pup is doing much better soon.
