puppy with pink urine?

My one month old female pitbull started urinating pink just now, what does that mean?

Hi Mayra
I'd guess that the pink color in your puppy's urine is being caused by some blood getting into it.

This can be caused by irritation, inflammation and infection. I'd strongly recommend that you get your puppy thoroughly checked out by your veterinarian to find out what's causing this problem.

It could be a simply urinary tract infection (fairly common in puppies, especially females), or irritation due to her not drinking enough water perhaps or a number of other things.

Only a qualified veterinarian can make an accurate diagnosis and give her the treatment that she needs. Left untreated a UTI (urinary tract infection) can travel to other areas of the body including major organs such as the kidneys. Obviously this is dangerous.

Get her to your vet just as soon as you can so that she can get treatment if necessary.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that your puppy is doing much better soon.
