puppy with warm paws

my puppys' paws are warm. are they supposed to be that way?

i'm a first time owner.

Hi
A puppys' paws and tummy often feel warmer than the rest of him just because there's no hair covering them. Also a dogs' normal temperature is quite a bit higher than a humans (usually between 100 and 102F).

If your puppy is eating, drinking, playing and acting normally I wouldn't worry about his warm paws. However if he seems sick in any way then have him examined by your vet right away.

It's always a good idea to have a new puppy seen by your own vet within a day or two of bringing them home so that you can be sure they're healthy and up to date on all puppy shots etc.

As this is your first puppy you may find these pages useful....
