puppy won't eat or drink

My wife has a 3 month old chihuahua who is normally very active but today he is just sleeping a lot and refuses to eat or drink anything, also she said he is throwing up a clear liquid and she is afraid it may be parvo.

Is there anyway to tell what it could be without having to go to the vet or is a vet needed for something like this?

Puppy diarrhea is one of the most common symptoms seen in all types of dog illnesses. Vomiting and lethargy are the next two most common signs of sickness.

However, in young puppies who haven't been fully vaccinated, the risk of Canine Parvovirus is very high, and as this disease is so contagious and so very serious, it's vital to get a veterinarians' opinion in a pup showing Parvo symptoms.

I can only recommend that you take your little guy to your vet right away if he isn't already doing much better. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and if he is sick then the sooner he gets diagnosed and treated the better.
