pus or mucus coming from my puppy's eyes

we have a 3 month old lab mix and we just got him a week ago

and he seems to be healthy but he has pus or white or

yellowish mucus stuff coming from his eyes morning mostly.

He also whines a lot when he is just lying around.

Some breeds are more prone to eye discharge than others, especially the ones with drooping eyelids, depending on what mix your pup is this may be a factor.

Also allergies and/or infection can cause this symptom. I'd recommend that you have your vet take a look because your pup may need some antibiotic ointment or something similar to clear this up. Left untreated an infection can cause serious problems.

The whining may just be because he's a bit anxious, or scared, misses his family and so on. At 3 months old he may take a little longer to settle into a new environment than an 8 week old pup.
