Raised bump on head - chihuahua

I have a 2.5 mo old ckc miniature chihuahua that recently formed a little hard bump on her head. I noticed it yesterday, thought it was quite small.
Well, tonight I got home from work and noticed that it's a bit bigger(now about the circumference of a click-pencil eraser) and raised. It doesn't seem to bother her when I touch it.
Is it possible she bumped her head on something, and this will eventually go away? What are some common problems that are associated with young pups like this?
She is 99% an indoor dog except when I have to take her places. Your help is appreciated.
Hi BrandonPuppies can develop all sorts of lumps and bumps, sebaceous cysts, puppy 'acne', rashes etc. are fairly common.
Chihuahuas often have a 'soft spot' on the top of their head where the bones of the skull haven't fully closed up. This is an area of weakness and injury to that area can cause problems, as can any apparent swelling in that area.
However, from the photo it doesn't look like that is what's going on. It may simply be a cyst that your pup has developed, or she could have had a cut/sting/bite that has caused this swelling.
As it doesn't seem to hurt her or cause her any distress, as long as she's eating, drinking, playing and acting normally chances are it's not anything serious. BUT.. I would recommend having her examined by your vet to make sure that everything is okay and there's nothing that needs to be done.
Cysts sometimes come and go by themselves with no apparent reason. If it's a cut/sting etc. as long as it doesn't get infected it should heal up. I'm not a vet though, and it's best to always consult your vet if you're concerned. I'd have him take a look at this just to be on the safe side.
Best of luck with your pup. Hope this rights itself soon.
