reactions to puppy shots?

My puppy just got his first series of shots, and is acting like he is sick, low energy, lack of appetite, and he has vomited about 4 times today, a yellowish/greenish liquid.
He still loves attention, and does not seem to be hurting, but I am worried. Is this normal? Is there anything I can give him to make is stomach feel better?
Hi Connie
Many puppies have a reaction of some sort to their puppy shots.
For the most part it sounds as though your pups' reaction is normal, and fairly mild, although the vomiting isn't always part of it.
I'd recommend that you read my Puppy Shots Page (link in first paragraph of this answer), to learn more about puppy vaccinations and the reactions that can occur.
More serious reactions such as swelling, hives, difficulty breathing and so on, require veterinary attention, but it sounds as though your pup will be just fine. Normally these mild reactions only last a day or so.
However, if he doesn't seem to 'bounce back' within 48 hours, or you notice any other signs that he's not feeling well, talk to your vet.
Hope this puts your mind at rest, best of luck with your puppy.
