Saint bernard leaks when she sleeps.

My husband and I have noticed that our saint bernard is leaking when she lays down. she is spayed got that down when she turned 6 months old.

Trying to figure out what is causing it. We just had to put an 18 year old (in people years 126 in dogs years) dog to sleep and that could be causing it.

But she was doing it some before that. She is only a little over a year old.

Any sudden change in behavior such as this needs to be evaluated by your veterinarian. There are several possible reasons for incontinence like this and only a vet can make an accurate diagnosis.

It's possible that she has a UTI which can cause frequent urination and a loss of bladder control at times. It could also be a nerve problem, or a hormonal one.

Your vet will be able to run some tests and make a diagnosis so that your pup can get the treatment that she needs. This is unlikely to improve without help, so please get her examined just as soon as you can.
