Shih Tzu with puffy red eyes

My 14 month old shih tzu has red puffy eyes. He just threw up 3 times and keeps crawling around on the floor with his ear to the carpet.

What do I need to do, rush him to the vet?

I'd say your pup definitely needs to see a veterinarian, but I'm afraid I can't say whether it's an emergency. I'd recommend calling your vet clinic and explaining his symptoms, they should be able to advise you.

My first guess would be that he's suffering from an ear infection, or bad dog allergies.

Rubbing his ear on the carpet indicates that it's bothering him, either itchy or painful. The red puffy eyes could be caused by an allergy, or infection too. Likely they're both caused by the same thing.

Your vet is the only one who can make an accurate diagnosis though, so I'd recommend getting your pup checked out asap.
