We have a 3 month old part dachshund and part pekingnese.
The lady that we got her from said that the mom (peke) was approx. 8 lbs and the dad (dasch) is a mini weighing approx. 11 lbs. Right now our puppy ~ Daleigh ~ weighs about 4 1/2 lbs.
About how big do you think she should get??? She looks more like her dad than her mom.
Hi Lorri
It's difficult to make generalizations about size, as it's pretty individual and there can be huge differences in growth rates between pups of the same breed - even in the same litter.
When you have a mixed breed pup it's even more of a 'gamble'.
However, you can usually estimate that a puppy has reached about 50% of it's adult size/weight by about 4 months old - give or take. So your puppy may weight somewhere between 10 and 11 pounds at maturity.
Bear in mind that's only a guess (and personal opinion though), not necessarily accurate.
