Hi, my puppy is about 11 weeks and he's usually pretty active and playful. He eats very little but because he is quite small for his age. He's 1.13 lbs. Today, he hasn't eaten.. That I've seen. He started shaking his head and spew liquid as he's shaking his head..
When I look up close, it seems like saliva but I look at his mouth and it's bubbly, foamy. He still plays and barks but I'm really scared it's something serious, even tho my friend who's licensed with dogs said it was something he ate.
Help?
Hi Vanessa
As your pup hasn't eaten anything that you know of, but is vomiting, he really needs to be seen by a veterinarian. It's possible he's ingested something he shouldn't, or something toxic, or that he's sick in some way. Only your veterinarian can really give you an accurate diagnosis.
Tiny dog breeds can become hypoglycemic (their blood sugar drops too low) if they don't eat regularly, rubbing a little Karo syrup or honey on his gums/tongue may help in that situation and it's possible that your pup is experiencing this. However, I'd strongly recommend having your vet take a look at him, it's always better to be safe than sorry.
Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
