My dog just got spayed yesterday and seemed fine. She is now shaking, vomiting and will not eat. Is this normal for a dog that has just gotten surgery?

Can i give her medication for pain? i was not given any by the vet.

No, this isn't normal for a dog who has had surgery, it sounds as though she's in pain or distress and there could be different reasons for this.

I'd strongly recommend that you call your vet right away and ask their advice, I would imagine that he/she will want to see her to make sure that nothing is wrong.

Spaying a dog can cause some residual pain/discomfort and the dog needs to take things easy for about a week so that the incision can heal. However, she shouldn't be in distress this way, so please get her veterinary attention to be on the safe side.
