Tonight is the 1st night and his breathing is so loud it's short rapid breaths but he stops every once in a while and he's fine when he's running around and awake.

Is this somthing to worry about? so sleepy, any tips of him sleeping in a cage?

Hi Tiffany
Puppies do tend to breathe erratically, and it's more pronounced when they're afraid/anxious/excited/in pain etc. etc

If your pup is eating, drinking and playing normally and doesn't have difficulty breathing when active or seem weak/tired when moving around, chances are this is nothing to worry about and perfectly normal.

However, it's always a good idea to have a new puppy checked out by your own veterinarian to make sure that everything is okay. So, I'd recommend getting him his check up so that you be certain he's up to date with his puppy vaccinations, dewormings etc. AND put your mind at rest about his general health.

I wish you the best of luck with your new puppy.
