swollen butt on a 13 week old pekingese..What to do?

I have a 13 week old pekingese who seems to have diarrhea. She seemed to have had a piece of poop stuck to her butt.

She kept dragging her but on the floor so I decided to wash her butt. Once I finished I noticed her butt was swollen and irritated. It seems it still bothers her. What should I do?

If your pup had a bout of puppy diarrhea it could well have irritated the delicate skin around her rectum. Shampoo etc. would make this worse.

You can try to soothe the area with a little vaseline. If her little butt is swollen it could be that she's constipated (still possible in spite of the diarrhea). A change in diet can cause all sorts of digestive upsets, as can dietary 'indiscretions', infections etc. If she's not doing a whole lot better very soon I'd have your vet take a look at her.
