i have a 1 year old cocker spaniel dachshund mix puppy throwing up clear liquids when she gets up to walk around or jumps on the bed or sofa what could this be?
Hi Beverley
I'd have to recommend that you take your little girl to the vet for a check up, as it's very difficult to tell what is causing something like this.
As it sounds as though it's a recent development I'm wondering if she could have injured her esophagus or swallowed something she shouldn't? If she's always had this problem then perhaps she has a congenital problem with her esophagus or throat.
I'm afraid I'm not a vet and this isn't something I've had personal experience with or knowledge of, so I think a vet is the best person to help you. If she is eating and drinking normally and isn't vomiting up food and so on, then hopefully it's not affecting her too much, but still needs to be evaluated by a professional.
Dogs that have trouble with their esophagus sometimes benefit from eating/drinking out of elevated bowls which allows the food/liquids to pass down into their tummies more easily. You may want to try and see if this helps too.
I wish you the best of luck and hope Lily is doing better soon.
