hi, i bought a bobtail boxer at 8 weeks, she was vet checked and had 1st jab, all o.k. i feed her on prem kibble and natural meat and all was o.k, i then changed her natural meat to a premium tin meat, and since then, she has had really bad dirrhea.
i changed her back to her normal food, but she still had diarrhoea with some blood, sometimes mucus blood, and can be foamy at times, she has lost a lot of weight, can see her rib cage and hips. this has been going on for near 2 weeks now.
she is still eating drinking and playing with my 7yr old boxer, and is her normal self apart from her smelly runny poos. please help.
Hi Sharon
It's impossible to say for sure what is causing your pups' diarrhea, as there seem to be a few factors involved.
It could be that the change in diet was the original trigger and then the diarrhea set up some intestinal inflammation that has made the condition chronic.
It could also be that your pup has contracted an infection of some sort, either bacterial or parasitic.
The only one that can make an accurate diagnosis is your veterinarian, so I strongly suggest that you take your pup to your vet for an examination asap. This sort of chronic diarrhea isn't normal and you need a professional evaluation.
Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
