Hi Monica
Don't worry, you're not alone! Puppies do tend to be very active, even if it's in short bursts, and biting/nipping is an almost universal puppy behavior.

Firstly, make sure your puppy is getting enough exercise. There's a lot of truth to the saying 'a tired puppy is a good puppy'. Some breeds, such as herding/working and large breeds, need quite a bit of exercise, even as puppies. Some terriers, such as the Jack Rusell, also need a lot of outlet for their energy.

When at home, make sure your pup has plenty of good, sturdy chew toys to play with. Also, build some short training sessions into his daily schedule. Both of these measures help to use up some of the excess physical and mental energy.

As for biting/nipping - this is usually an attention-seeking behavior, sometimes a dominant one. The best way to deal with it is to make sure that you withdraw your attention from your puppy as soon as he starts biting at you.

I'd recommend that you read my Puppy Biting page as it has tons of tips and advice on dealing with this annoying behavior.

Best of luck!
