what can i do to stop my five week old bulldog to stop crying

I have a five week old bulldog who just cries lot. I will hold him, play with him, feed him give him water, I don't know what to do.

My husband and I work. I work in the morning, and he works at night, and it is hard to get sleep, because he cries all the time. He goes to the bathroom 10,15 times a day and night.

help please

Hi
Your puppy is a very tiny baby, he shouldn't even have left his momma yet (that should be at around 8 weeks) and is probably barely weaned. He's crying because he scared, lonely and is missing his momma and siblings.

He needs lots of love and attention, but although he's very young, he will also need to spend some time on his own. There is always an adjustment period after a puppy comes to it's new home and family, and during this time they may cry and whine, lose their appetite, seem very sleepy and so on. It usually lasts for several days to a week or so, and is pretty normal.

Just make sure that your pup has regular mealtimes, fresh water available at all times, lots of love and playtime, but also plenty of rest. If he cries when you leave him by himself for short periods, ignore him as long as he doesn't need a potty break and isn't cold, hungry or thirsty. I think you will find crate training will help with the housebreaking. My New Puppy Care page will give you lots of tips and advice on how to care for your new puppy, and what you need to do for him.

Young puppies need to eliminate often, very often in fact, and at 5 weeks old your pup won't have any bladder/bowel control really. That doesn't begin until around 8 weeks of age. He may need to potty every 30 minutes to an hour during the day, and go outside at least 2 or 3 times at night.

I know that when you work it's hard to lose out on sleep, but your puppy is basically like a baby, and you will need to treat him like one for some time. This stage does end, and by the time he's 12 - 14 weeks old he should be able to sleep through the night without a potty break.

Best of luck with him.
