What does it mean when a 7 week old pug poops white mucusy jelly after pooping normal stool?
Our dog poops a normal stool brown formed but then will squat again and produce this white jelly mucusy stool...
please tell us what's going on!
Hi Katie
Mucus like this can be the result of irritation or inflammation of the colon, and that can be caused by any number of things... from a change in diet, to dog illnesses.
If your pup seems happy and healthy apart from this, and is eating and drinking normally, then I wouldn't worry too much at this point. If you've changed his/her food recently that could be what's causing this, and it should clear up within a few days.
However, if it continues, or your pup shows any other signs of illness, have your veterinarian examine him to make sure there aren't any underlying health conditions that need treated.
Hope this helps. Best of luck with your puppy.
