My dog is 6 months old. She has been acting funny since last night.
All night she was vomiting her food and foamish yellow liquid. Now she is pooping blood and won't eat.
Can you let me know what is wrong and what I need to do. I'm very scared now...
Hi Kasey
Your dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately. If your own vet is closed, then get her to an emergency pet hospital or similar.
Vomiting like this, accompanied by bloody stools could mean Canine Parvovirus (aka Parvo), which is extremely serious. There are also other infections and dog illnesses that can cause these symptoms, all of them need veterinary attention.
Your dog is probably already dehydrated due to the vomiting and diarrhea, and that alone can cause organ failure. I know you're scared and I'm not saying this to make you more upset, but so that you know your dog MUST get to a vet asap if she is to have a chance of getting better.
It's possible that whatever is causing her symptoms is less serious than Parvo, but you never want to take a chance with these types of problems as dogs can die without treatment.
I wish you lots of luck and hope your dog makes a full recovery.
