WHAT TO DO IF MY NEW PUPPY IS SICK

I JUST GOT A NEW PUPPY TODAY AND HE IS A MIXED BREED ABOUT 8 WEEKS OLD. HE IS THROWING UP AND WON'T EAT HIS FOOD. HE HAD DIARRHEA AND IT IS SO BAD WHEN HE GOES TO THE BATHROOM IT IS LIKE WATER.
THE PERSON THAT I GOT HIM FROM SAID THAT SHE GAVE HIM WORD MEDICINE WHEN HE WAS 4 WEEKS AND 6 WEEKS OLD. I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANYTHING LIKE WORMS WHEN HE USES THE BATHROOM.
ANY ADVICE? I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY NEW LITTLE PUPPY.
Hi Tiffany
It sounds as though your little guy needs to see a veterinarian immediately. They symptoms you describe could mean he has Parvo which is a very serious, contagious dog illness. It can be fatal in young puppies.
He is probably dehydrated already due to the vomiting and diarrhea, and that in itself can cause serious problems. Prompt veterinary attention and supportive care such as IV fluids and anti-biotics are essential.
Obviously, Parvo isn't the only option, and it's possible that your pup has some other illness or condition, but only a vet can make an accurate diagnosis. When Parvo is a possibility it's never wise to 'wait and see', please take your pup to the vet right away.
I really hope it has a happy ending for you both, and wish you the best of luck!
