wheezing

My toy poodle starting wheezing yesterday & is not acting like her happy self.....can you tell me what might be the problem?

I wish I could, but unfortunately I'm not a vet and wheezing could signal several different things such as a respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, pneumonia, kennel cough and so on.

It could also be a problem with her larynx or trachea, she could have swallowed something that's lodged in her airway or damaged it in some way.

Occasionally it can be caused by heart congestion or other more serious conditions.

Only your vet can make an accurate diagnosis, so I'd recommend that you have your dog examined asap. Hopefully it's something minor but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
