I have a six year old jack russell terrier. I recently noticed a small white spot on her muzzle that is a little smaller than a pea, it appears to be pus filled but isn't and there is no hair on it.
I tried to clean it with peroxide and it didn't seem to bubble so I proceeded to put neosporin on it. What could this be? I don't believe it's ringworm and have a two year old son who loves his dog and I don't want him to get it.
Hi Brandy
I'm afraid it's impossible for me to say what's causing this white spot, as it could be any number of things.
Dogs are prone to a host of different skin conditions, and it could possibly be ringworm, or Mange, or it could be a cyst of some sort.
The only way to find out for sure is to have your vet examine your dog. That way you'll get a definitive answer, and if any treatment is needed you can get it taken care of.
Best of luck.
