Hi Marcus
This is a question that would be better asked of your veterinarian as he/she has the knowledge need to answer it.

I'm not a vet and haven't personally witnessed or experienced caring for a dog with seizures.

However, from what I understand epilepsy is one of the most common causes of seizures in dogs (and in humans of course) and this is due to electrical 'misfirings' in the brain.

Other possible causes can include infection, injury, tumors, ingesting toxins and other neurological conditions. Only a veterinarian can give you a definitive answer though, and perform any tests necessary to figure out why your dog is suffering from them.

I would strongly recommend having your dog examined by your vet to find out why he had a seizure and if there is any treatment needed.

Best of luck and I hope your dog is doing much better soon.
