Why is my yorkie throwing up brown gooey vomit?

He's throw up twice in one hour and is gagging every once in a while.

Puppy vomiting can be caused by a huge variety of things, from eating stuff he shouldn't, to poisoning, bacterial or parasitic infections and more.

If your pup vomits more than once or twice, seems lethargic, can't keep food or water down and so on, then he needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away, as these could be symptoms of some of the more common, contagious dog illnesses that puppies are vulnerable to.

However, if he only vomits a couple of times, seems happy and active otherwise and is eating/drinking normally, chances are he'll recover all by himself and has simply eaten something that disagreed with him.

If in doubt though, get him checked out by your vet, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
