worried about my pregnant dog

I have a 1yr old SPRINGER SPANIEL cross staffordshire bull terrier pregnant with mastiffs pups. is that dangerous?

I'm not sure what size your dog is, whether she's an AmStaff cross or an English Staffy cross. They are quite different in size.

Although it's not exactly dangerous, it can cause problems if the puppies are very large. I would recommend that you make sure to have your veterinarian's emergency telephone number close to the phone when your dog is ready to whelp her pups.

If there is more than 2 hours between the delivery of pups, or your dog seems to be contracting and straining for this period of time without delivering a puppy, it could be stuck in the birth canal and you'll need veterinary help.

A dog is pregnant for around 63 days (give or take a couple of days either way) from the date of conception. You will find tips and advice on taking care of new born puppies (if the momma needs any help) on my New Born Puppies
