The Boxer


The fun loving, outgoing Boxer is in the Number 7 place in the US canine popularity polls (according to AKC figures).

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone familiar with this breed.

High spirited and affectionate these dogs makes great family companions.

Lovable Clown

This breed first originated from the crossing of two ancient German Mastiff type dogs. It was bred for bull baiting and hunting purposes but was also used to herd cattle and pull carts.

Today this affectionate breed is most often found as a gentle, loving family companion.

Country of Origin: - Germany

Size: - Medium to Large

Height: - 21 - 25 inches

Weight: - 50 - 75lbs

Color: - Fawn or Brindle. Can have white markings (called Flashy). White Boxers are not allowed to be registered with the AKC.

Temperament: - High spirited and playful. Affectionate, loyal.

Activity Level: - High

Grooming: - Minimal

Special Needs: - Need a lot of regular exercise. Ongoing training and socialization.

Possible Health Problems: - Hip dysplasia, cardiac problems, breathing problems, cancer.


In a nutshell!

This is an exuberant, lovable clown who adores people and is wonderful with children. Can get along well with other animals if socialized to them early on.
